Adoption process

1. Request an adoption application via email or download one from our website. 2. Complete- in full or it will be returned to you for completion- and return the adoption application. Must include a vet reference that we can contact! 3. Provide photos of cage- if you already have one- with measuring tape shown or permit us to come and see the cage. Cages must meet the minimum requirements for size or you will be required to obtain the proper size cage prior to placement of animal(s) being adopted. Please see the Custom Cages page for size requirements. **Do not buy a cage until you know that it meets or exceeds our requirements. Just because you buy a cage that you feel will be okay does not mean that it will meet our requirements.** We are not responsible for you losing money or having to return an item that you bought because it does not meet our requirements. 4. If you have not heard from us via phone or email and it’s been more than 14 days since you mailed or 4 days if you emailed your adoption application, please email us to check on it! 5. Next we would schedule an interview, either face-to-face or phone, or a home visit if needed. We will need to speak with everyone in the household regarding the adoption of any animal. 6. You will get an email letting you know if you have been approved or denied and how soon we would have what you are looking for in a pet (if you have certain restrictions) or if we have one now that fits your criteria. 7. With the above being said, please realize that we are not a breeder- we are a RESCUE! We do not breed so that we have constant supply of animals, or a large variety. We ask that you keep your preferences open so that all animals can find the forever homes that they so deserve! 8. You will be required to come to our facility to learn about care and spend bonding time with the animal that you wish to adopt. This is a requirement of all our adopting families. If, for some reason, the animal that you picked does not bond well with you, we reserve the right to refuse to adopt that animal to you and suggest another one. We are not a pet store or breeder, so do not expect to come here and leave 20 minutes later with an animal. This is to reduce the possibility of "impulse buying" as well as to make sure that you have fully thought the adoption through.
