Central Coast Herding Dog Rescue (CCHDRescue) is dedicated to helping find homes for Border Collies, Australian Shepherds, Australian Cattle Dogs/Queensland Heelers and other herding breeds and mixes. This site lists dogs in shelters as well as dogs in homes and foster care, and is intended to help adopters seeking good dogs, and dogs seeking loving homes. Our geographical area covers Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo Counties.
1. Identify a dog (or dogs) you may be interested in on the Available Dogs page. 2. For general questions about the dog(s) you are interested in or the adoption process, please email info@cchdrescue.org. 3. Download the adoption application below. Email your completed application to info@cchdrescue.org. Please be sure to include the name(s) of dogs you are interested in adopting in your email and please double check to make sure you did not leave out any information on the application. Your signature is not required at this time. 4. CCBC Rescue is located in Paso Robles, CA. If you wish to meet and adopt a dog from CCHD Rescue, it will be necessary for all involved, other family members residing in your home (human and canine) to travel to Paso Robles (or where ever the dog may reside in foster care) to meet the prospective dog. We do not transport dogs for adoption appointments. 5. We can not hold dogs, so we can not consider applications for a particular dog, until you are actually ready to accommodate the dog you wish to adopt. 6. Our goal is to find these great dogs great homes as soon as possible. Each dog in rescue, is taking the spot of another dog in need. You may however, have completed application on file with CCHD Rescue, to ensure that you are among the first to meet the dog of your choice. No adoptions or "meet and greets" will be considered without a completed application on file. 7. Adoption fee covers rescue expenses, including: spay/neuter, current vaccinations, various medical care, micro-chipping, feeding, and maintaining dogs needs. 8. Once your completed application has been reviewed and approved, we will schedule a "meet and greet" for you and your family. If it is a match, you may take your dog home. CCHD Rescue wants the best for our dogs, and adopters, all adoptions have a trial period of 2 weeks, full refunds of adoptions fees apply. We want to make sure that you and the dog are a good fit. No adopters remorse allowed!
