We are an approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization registered to rescue dogs in MA & NH. Many of the dogs we strive to save are homeless, abused, neglected or simply misjudged, yet all of them deserve a second chance. Many never get that second chance because they are a breed which has been blacklisted from housing complexes, home insurance policies and even banned from living in certain cities or states. The list of breeds who often face unfair public discrimination is long, but the top four tend to be American Pit Bull Terriers, Rottweilers, Dobermans & German Shepherds. Our goal is to help give these precious misunderstood dogs a second chance at the life that they deserve by placing them in loving foster and forever homes. We work closely within our communities and through local animal control facilities and shelters to save as many dogs as possible. Our network of volunteers, advocates and fosters work tirelessly to ensure that every dog we meet is given a chance to prove the world wrong. All of our dogs have been fully evaluated and temperament tested by trained volunteers. We operate solely on donations and our organization is 100% volunteer-driven and foster home based. This allows us to direct 100% of the rescue’s donations and fundraising proceeds to the dogs in our care.

Adoption process

Our adoption process is thorough and starts with completion of our online adoption application. Upon receiving an application, we complete a verbal reference from your vet, ensuring that all current or past animals are up to date on vaccines as spayed or neutered. We also complete an animal control reference when possible to ensure your current pets are licensed and there are no existing complaints against you in your town. Often times we do a second verbal reference and require speaking with your landlord when applicable. Following all references checking out, we schedule a 30 phone screening to learn more about you, your home, and to tell you more about the dog you applied to adopt. If phone screening goes well, we complete an in person home visit. Upon completion of the home visit, a meet with the adoptable dog you are interested in is scheduled. We do not do same day adoptions so if all goes well at the meet, the adoption is schedule within a week. Dogs being adopted under one year of age are required to be signed up for basic obedience classes prior to adoption. All adoptive families are encouraged to continue training with their dog up the Canine Good Citizen Level (CGC). Adopters will receive a (donated) gift box if their rescue dog receives their CGC certification. All dogs are up to date on rabies and distemper vaccines, heartworm tested, micro-chipped and spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Any known behavioral or health needs of the dog will be clearly communicated to adopters during phone screen.
