Broken Tail Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue organization run by a group of dedicated volunteers in Massachusetts. We work closely with local animal controls, animal shelters, and other rescue groups to help find dogs, cats, and other small animals loving, happy homes. We primarily focus on animals located in the New England area but we also assist southern dogs when space permits. If you are looking to adopt a dog or cat, look no further! Our animals are vet examined, vaccinated, and spayed or neutered as needed and receive any and all medical treatment necessary prior to being placed into carefully screened permanent homes. We are proud to have a 100% spay/neuter rate on the canines, felines, and rabbits that we adopt out. No animal leaves unaltered!

Adoption process

1. Fill out an application for your potential new family member. 2. One of our volunteers will review the submitted application and do their best to respond within 48 hours. 3. If the animal is a good match, then a meet and greet will be setup - usually at the foster home or the Cambridge PetSmart adoption center. We like to have all family members attend. 4. If everything seems like a good fit we then look to check personal and veterinary records (if applicable). 5. After checking references, we will then look to schedule a home visit (for dogs only). 6. Finally, the last step if to complete the adoption paperwork and to bring your new family member home.
