Animal House is a safe, loving place for rescued cats to live while they find forever homes. During their time with us they receive all of the care and support they need to remain healthy and happy. And there is no time limit! They are welcome to stay with us for as long as it takes to meet their purr-fect match! We’re located in St. Louis, Missouri, and care for 200 to 300 adorable cats of all ages and personalities. We will happily introduce you to cats that are a great fit for you and your family, fill you in about their personalities, and assist you with adoption when you find your match. It’s our number one priority to help cats find permanent, loving homes. Everything we do supports this goal.

Adoption process

1. Reach Out. Check out the wonderful cats we have available on Petfinder or Adopt A Pet. Be sure to read about their purr-sonalities so you can begin to get an idea of who might be right for you. You can email us at animalhouse@stlcats.org to start the application process, and check out the map for our location. 2. Matchmaking. Work with an adoption coordinator to find the cat that is right for you. This process may involve meeting with numerous cats, or even making more than one visit to Animal House. You and your new cat will live together for a lifetime, so this step is important! 3. Vet Appointment. We'll conduct a final checkup on your purr-fect companion, making sure nails are trimmed and they are all ready to go...All while you prepare your home for your new cats arrival. 4. Home Visit. The adoption is then completed during a home visit. An adoption coordinator will work with you to arrange a time to bring the cat to your home. At this time, paperwork is finalized and the $125 adoption fee is collected. 5. Purrfect Ending. Live happily ever after with your new feline friend, with Animal House as a resource to you both as any questions arise.
