Animal Friends Rescue Project (AFRP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (tax ID 77-0491141) that is based in Pacific Grove, CA. We are dedicated to finding good permanent homes for abandoned, stray and neglected companion animals and ending the pet overpopulation crisis through focused spay/neuter programs. We work with our local community and animal shelters to identify and assist the dogs and cats most in need of a helping hand.
How to Adopt a Cat: We have a terrific selection of cats and kittens just waiting for someone like you! You can view our adoptable cats online or at our adoption locations. When you find a cat you love, the first step is to fill out our cat adoption application, either online or in person at an adoption location. If you aren’t sure which cat is right for you, our adoption specialists love playing matchmaker and would be delighted to help you find a good fit. We encourage you to bring the entire family to participate in this important decision. If the cat you are interested in meeting is in foster care, we can arrange for you to meet the cat at the foster home or at an adoption location. When you have chosen your new companion, you will be asked to sign an adoption contract and pay an adoption fee. Cat adoption fees range from $0 - $150. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. We also test for FIV and FeLV and treat for fleas and parasites. Every cat adopted from AFRP comes with our lifetime promise that for any reason you can no longer care for your cat, he or she can come back to our organization. How to Adopt a Dog: We have a tail waggin’ assortment of adoptable dogs and puppies that would love to meet you! Our dogs are primarily housed in foster homes.
