Animal Crackers Pet Rescue is a full service, no-kill animal non-profit organization run by volunteers and serving the South Orange County area. We specialize in housing and nurturing pets deemed to be highly adoptable, reducing the burden on the community and saving loving pets from unnecessary euthanasia. As part of our services, we furnish these animals with shelter, proper nutrition, necessary grooming, and veterinary care. We receive many animals each year from high-kill shelters and stray animal turn-ins. We also receive animals from owners who can no longer properly care for their pets, a trend that has sadly increased in recent years. Our goal with the animals is to accommodate for their care and needs, including social development skills, until we are able to place each animal in a stable and loving home. The benefits of our services to the community are multidimensional. Primarily, we are a privately run alternative that relieves the financial burden and reduces the workload of publicly funded local animal control services. In addition, we provide a transitional home for animals who would otherwise be wondering the streets of our community. Although our initial objective is to save and care for animals, there are also peripheral benefits to the community of having a non-government run, non-profit animal care organization. Our group’s services address public safety issues and public health concerns, as well as, reduce the negative affect stray animals can have on property values. We also provide the public with educational resources regarding proper animal care practices.
