Adoption process

1. If you are interested in a meet and greet or adoption with a pet after reading their bio, the submission of the application begins the process. When submitting an online application, you will receive a confirmation email from Applications@AdoptmeBluegrassPetRescue.com. If you have not received this email, please check your Spam Folder. Also, add this email address to your Safe Sender List. 2. Adopt Me! BPR reviews applications in the order in which they are recieved, and an approved application will prompt an in-person meet and greet with the pet. 3. The applicant will be contacted once the review is complete, regardless of the outcome. This may take anywhere from a week to several weeks. 4. An approved application does not have to be specific to the initial pet chosen in the event the pet is not available or not suitable. 5. An approved application will remain active for 6 months after submission. 6. Adoption fees for our Adoptables are listed below. Adult Dogs (3 - 7 yrs) $250 - $300. Senior Dogs (7+ yrs) $225. Puppies & Young Adults (6 wks-2 yrs) $325 - $425. Paws Behind Bars Trained $350 - $425. Service Dogs TBD. Adult Cats $100. Kittens $125. 7. It is highly recommended that any dog(s)/cat(s) in the home meet with the adoptive dog/cat during the scheduled meet and greet to determine if they are potential suitable matches. 8. Adopt Me! BPR emphasizes the "right fit" for pairing an animal with an adoptive family, therefore, a submitted application is no guarantee of adoption. We often receive many applications for a particular animal. When this occurs, the most appropriate home will be chosen based on our knowledge of the animal’s temperament and needs. In instances where we determine that more than one of the applicants for the same animal would be a suitable home, the applicant whose application was received first shall be approved for the animal in question, and the staff will recommend other animals with similar qualities/personalities to the other approved applicant(s). Think your decision over carefully and discuss it with all family members. Adoption is a commitment that is likely to extend more than 10 years. If you have any reservations, please take your time. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask us. You can contact us via email at adoptmebpr@aol.com.
