​A Pathway to Hope is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and adoption of abandoned dogs and cats, with a focus on special needs cases, south to north rescue of northern breed dogs, local rescue of stray cats and all breeds of dogs, and community outreach to further the cause of rescue.

Adoption process

Our adoption process begins with the adoption application. We realize that the adoption application is a long form, but feel it is necessary to properly match the right pet with the right family. Please fill in the application completely. We receive hundreds of applications so please be patient in awaiting a response. We will contact you if we are screening your application for adoption. After we receive your application, we will begin screening only if we believe you could be a match to one of our adoptable animals. The screen process involves a vet check, reference check, phone interview and home visit. The process can be lengthy for both volunteers and adopters, but we want to be sure we are finding a forever home for each pet.
